Friel Black

I grew up in Canada, listening to my grandfather read Brothers Grimm during the deep, dark winters. I live in a little old house with my sweet family, writing ghost stories into the wee hours of the morning. When I’m not writing or editing, I enjoy playing cello and obsessively hoarding translations of Beowulf and Anglo-Saxon poetry. I studied English Literature at the University of Alberta, which is likely what incited my coffee addiction. Editing is a true passion of mine, and I love reading across all genres of literature. Some of my very favourite authors are Virginia Woolf, Margaret Atwood, Michael Ondaatje, Holly Black, Leigh Bardugo, Haruki Murakami, Amy Tan, and Toni Morrison.
